Ebonyi Government has continued speading up actions on its vow to make the state free from any kind of security threats by employing different mechanisms.

The Special Assistant to the state Governor on Internal Security and Public Utilities, Ebonyi South Zone, Hon. Chika Nwangele, Tuesday, expressed readiness by his office to ensure all the security plans by state government yield a good result.

Nwangele made the disclosure while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki after having a security meeting with the Neighborhood Watch under his control in his office.

He said that Governor David Nweze Umahi has provided the logistics to ensure the state is a crime free zone, calling all the security operatives to be more alert at the border areas since in his words, most of the security threats in the state emanate from the neighabouring communities especially those who are into communal crisis due to land disputes.

The Special Assistant however, charged all the members of the Neighborhood Watch under his jurisdiction to continue be up and doing by ensuring every security threat is combatively raid off.

He explained that the State Commissioner for internal security, has shared the existing sixteen discos in the urban areas into four, each under the control of Governor Umahi's security aide respectively.

"I am in charge of four discos,  disco 4, 7, 13 and 15 in Ebonyi State. Today, I called for the security meeting and all the neighborhood watch under those discos I mentioned their names to make sure that we continue protecting the lives and properties of people. We are always at alert to respond to any security threats.

"In our border areas, I must urge all the security agencies to be at alert because most of our challenges in terms of internal security, come from the neighabouring states, especially where issues on land disputes are still on but within this state, we witness utmost peace and tranquility courtesy of His Excellency, Governor David Umahi."

Interacting with the members of the Neighborhood Watch, Rommy Obasi, Charles Chigozie Uzor among others commended their leaders and expressed readiness to secure the state.
