One Barrister Kennedy Agbai from Ebonyi State is now declared wanted by Police for his alleged case of conspiracy and attempted murder.
The Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Command, CP Philip Sule Maku told newsmen at Abakaliki that Barr. Agbai is now at large because of the allegation levelled against him.
According to him, the lawyer was accused of hiring over thirty armed gangs from Amahiba in Isiukwuato council area of Abia state to descend on the people of Ndi Iheme village in Ishiagu Autonomous Community in Ivo local government area of Ebonyi State and have succeeded destroying houses and other valuables amounting millions of Naira but now at large.
He said, preliminary investigations by the Command, revealed that, there was an outstanding age-long land dispute between Ndi Obasi and Ndi Iheme villages, the case which Court judgement was given in favour of Ndi Obasi but Ndi Iheme refused to accept the rule by making an appeal.
He expressed anger at a situation where a lawyer took law into his hand in a case which is still in the Court by allegedly hiring men in disguise to renovate his buildings and paid them N4,000 each to carry out the act.
Maku further said, his men are full out to get the lawyer arrested even though he is still hidding in an unknown place since the incident took place.
Recall that the Commissioner paraded 23 arrested suspects for crimes including armed robbers who fouse on raiding supermarkets, POS centres and churches; recovered three locally made single barrels guns, one double barrel gun, five live cartridges with two expanded, two machetes, one torchlight, four sledge-hammers, one wooden harmer, one digger, a box of snuff and a Tecno phone.
He thus, noted that the effect of the community policing has helped in the successful operations carried out, commended the general public for their partnership to ensure the safety of lives and properties this time in the state.
