Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, has expressed dissatisfaction on the way PDP plays pranks with Igbo political leaders and its supporters from the Southeastern Nigeria and urged all governors from the zone to decamp from PDP to APC against 2023 general elections without further delay.

OYC said it obviousthat PDP has no better plan for the South East region of the country did and based on there was no need for leaders of the zone to continue flying the flag of the opposition party at the centre.

This was disclosed to newsmen by the Zonal General Secretary of the group, Mr.Nnabuike Okwu after a vitual meeting with the Igbo leaders and other prominent stakeholders from the Zone on Monday.

He made the call barely 48 hours after the speculations that Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State had concluded plans to decamp from the PDP to APC.

According to the General Secretary, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, after their consultative virtual meeting , with Igbo leaders and elders , on Monday , has been mandated to start mounting pressure on the South- East governors to abandon their political parties, especially those in the People ’s Democratic Party , to join the mainstream ruling party, the All Progressive Congress , without further delay .

“OYC urges the governors to defect, because there are no political benefits for the South- East to continue to remain in a political party that has no respect and value for Igbos , except milking their votes during elections through deceitful mediums and fake promises , and manipulative politicians .”
