At least, five hundred cases of sexual violence have been treated at Primary Health Care Centre in Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna North Local Government Area from 2018 to date.
A Staff of the health center, Mrs. Hauwa Ahmed made this known while presenting a paper titled Medical Statistics and Perspective organized by Unguwar Rimi Community in collaboration with the Women Skills Initiative held in Kaduna.
Mrs. Amhed explained that three hundred and fifteen were females while two hundred and nine were males all from the ages of ten to twenty four.
She explained that twelve female and ten male victims were tested HIV positive out of the number.
She lamented that the cases are from two communities of Unguwar Rimi and Unguwar Kudu all under Kaduna North local government area.
Also speaking on cases of rape in line with the religious point of view, Shiekh Musa Tanimu and his counterpart Rev. Sani Chindu Takura advised the societies to assist in addressing the menace.
