Late Papa Samuel Ukpai Nnachi.
President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan; Senate Chief Whip, and former governor of Abia State, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, were among dignitaries who paid last respect to late Papa Samuel Ukpai Nnachi.
Pa Nnachi popularly known as Sam Otu is the father of Sen Michael Ama Nnachi, Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district.
In his remarks at the burial, Senate President Lawan who was represented by the Senate minority leader Sen Enyinnaya Abaribe, described late Pa Samuel Nnachi as a devout Christian who rendered selfless service to God and his community.
While reflecting on the Christian lifestyle of Pa Samuel Nnachi, he regretted that Pa Nnachi died at the time his wealth of experience was needed most.
"I, however, enjoin you and indeed, the entire family to take solace in the fact that the legacies late Pa Samuel left behind would continue to bear eloquent testimonies of his long and eventful life while on earth".
His Eminence, Nzie Nsi Eke, the Prelate / Moderator of General Assembly of Pressbyterian Church of Nigeria, PCN who led the funeral service, described the late Samuel Ukpai Nnachi as a dedicated servant of God who was well disciplined and fair in his dealings with the people.
In his oration, Sen Ama Nnachi eulogized his father and thanked God for the life well lived
He said: "Papa was a very sound communicator and an astute teacher, who loved primarily to impact knowledge. As a purveyor of goodness, Papa could not stay without giving. He gave for himself; both to his lovely, well adjusted love, humility, empathy and service shall remain a treasure to each of us, his children,relatives, Itim Edda community, his Abiriba associates and generations to come.
"His consistent encouragement to me, his prayers, administrations and blessings have brought us this far. Thanks be unto God Almighty in the name of Jesus Christ, for giving us a resolute, understanding,compassionate,considerate and loving father.
"My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give to another person---he believed in me.
If there's a second chance to come to this world, I will always choose to be your son .
"My late father's legacies lives on, even though he is gone to be with the Lord,
"I will miss his humorous nature, prayers and encouragement---- particularly encouraged me politically,
"He has always told me that if it was a man that gave birth to people like the former president Olusegun Obasanjo, just the way he gave birth to me, I can also achieve and do even more, that was my father's statements. And incidentally, I won my election before he died.
"He was a resourceful father. I encourage other fathers to emulate good legacies, train and inspire their children academically and in home, and in terms of entrepreneurship. For instance, your father can teach you how to farm, it's entrepreneurship, he can tell you how to do things the right way to attract success in your life it's entrepreneurship".
PA Samuel Ukpai Nnachi (aka Sam Otu) was born in the year 1924 at Ezi-Ukwu Compound of Itim Edda in present day Afikpo south (Edda) LGA of Ebonyi state to the family of late chief Nnachi Agwu and late Ugo Nnachi. He was from Ibe Awo paternal linage and Ibe Efugbala Maternal linage. His father dotted on him being the only surviving son of his mother .

Abba Moro; Hon Laz Ogbee; Sen. Peter nwaboshi; Sen. Fadahausi, Sen Rochas Okorocha, Sen kule Balogun, Chief Fred Udeogu, Dr Gideon Osi and many others.
