The Ebonyi Police Command has confirmed the killing of Mr Kingsley Obasi, Deputy Speaker’s aide of the state House of Assembly by suspected gunmen.
DSP Loveth Odah, Police Public Relations Officer, in the state told reporters on Thursday in Abakaliki that the incident occurred on Wednesday night.
Odah noted that the Command has started investigation on the matter with a view of arresting the perpetrators.
"We gathered that the victim was trailed by gunmen on Wednesday night on his way home before killing him. They first collected his bag and then shot him," she stated.
It reports that the victim was the Legislative Assistant to Ebonyi Deputy Speaker, Obasi Odefa, who is representing Onicha-East constituency in the Assembly.
A source, who prefers anonymity said, the Kllers also made away with his bag containing money, his wedding invitation cards and other valuables
