*Congratulates him for winning the Sun Newspaper's Governor of the Year Award
The Special Assistant to Ebonyi State Governor on Inter-Party and Labour Matters, Comr. (Mrs.) Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor has commended the State governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, for graciously approving the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) and a bag of rice as Christmas insentive for every civil servant in the state.
The SA made this reactions today at the end of a Special Thanksgiving Service of the first family held at the Christ Embassy Church, Mile 50, Abakaliki where His Excellency announced the Chrismas package for the workers.
In her words: "His Excellency, the executive governor of Ebonyi state, Engr. Chief Nweze Umahi has again this afternoon demonstrated his consistent, steadfast and uncommon love for Ebonyi workers by announcing a Christmas package of Ten Thousand Naira and a bag of rice for every civil servant of the state, as well as a second round of state-wide distribution of palliatives to the less privileged in the electoral wards in the state. And just last week, I was told to handle the delivery of Chrismas packages from the state government to Ebonyi state university, the State College of education, Ikwo, the School of health, Ezzangbo, the Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, as well as, the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo, among others. Which we have started the distribution
"How else do we know a workers' friendly governor if not by periodic provision of such incentives like this in addition to prompt payment of their monthly salaries, and provision of loans and other empowerment programmes to ensure that civil servants in the state have a second address. His Excellency had also, earlier this year, injected over thirty electric tricycles to support the workers transport scheme in the state, just to name but a few.
"I therefore, on behalf of Ebonyi workers most sincerely thank and commend His Excellency for these kind gestures to Ebonyi workers and urge the workers to endeavour to reciprocate this unequalled philantropy of the state government because to him much is given, much is expected."
The Special Assistant also used the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi for winning the Governor of the Year Award of the Sun newspaper for 2019, and described it as well deserving in view of the giant strides of the governor in infrastructure, agriculture, human capital development, health, education and tourism.
She wished the first family a very merry Christmas and prayed for God's promotion, protection and good health for them in the years ahead.
