Xmas Message: Commissioner Orji hails Governor Umahi for modest achievements

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE BY  EBONYI STATE  COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION AND STATE ORIENTATION.

I, Hon. Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji, on behalf of my family, management and staff of the Ministry of Information and State Orientation joyfully join millions of Ebonyi people, home and  in diaspora in thanking God Almighty for the grace and privilege to celebrate the 2020 Christmas season  and for the hopes of sharing in the prospects of a new year.

2. We also thank God for the modest achievements of the Divine mandate administration of His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE (Akubaraoha), Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman of South East Governors’ Forum, especially for the socio-economic renaissance and ethical rebirth which are the hallmarks of his administration.

3. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are invited to reflect on our common history as a people, the shared values of gratitude, peace and love and the strong moral character of steadfastness and forthrightness which our people are known for.

4  Let us emphasize that which units  and strengthens our bonds and dreams of achieving a prosperous state,  which God through the gracious instrumentality of Governor Umahi is anchoring to the Glory of His Holy name. Through the power of God, our dear Governor has built a new Ebonyi State that blossoms in Infrastructure and human capital development.

5. Today in Nigeria, we are the best in good road network, we have a world class shopping mall, international market, ecumenical centre, beautiful water fountains, highest number of flyovers after Abuja and Lagos and Africa’s biggest light tunnel that beats the imagination of the best Engineers of the World. We are emerging as the State with the biggest and most modern International airport and stadium in the South East. 

6. Today, we have the best classroom blocks and motivational facilities for our teachers. Our King David Academy and Vocational College are the spring board for the mental development of our gifted children, entrepreneurs, craftsmen, artisans and technicians. We are building the most formidable health facilities in Africa with the construction of the College of Medicine, Hospital Emergency Complex, Virology Centre, School of Nursing and Midwifery and numerous primary and secondary Health Care facilities.
7. We have a network of effectively functioning streetlight system that cuts across the urban and rural areas. We have got Africa's most beautiful Government House and masses- oriented housing projects.  Today our fertilizer blending plant and rice milling plants have been enhanced to support agricultural mechanization and commercialization. 

8. Ebonyi State today is an investment destination and emerging tourism hub of Nigeria with the most formidable security architecture and best attitude of its inhabitants. We shall continue to give praise to God and uphold Him as the author of Governor Umahi's administration as we honour the first family for being God's instrument for the new narrative in Ebonyi State.

9. While we welcome our brothers and sisters to the state of their dream and visitors who want to spend their Christmas holiday in Africa’s fastest growing state, we urge them all to feel free to enjoy the conviviality of our environment and the hospitality of our people. We further enjoin them to observe all traffic regulations and protocols on social gatherings.

10. We give special thanks and warm felicitations to our dear Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi and his dear wife and compassionate mother of Ebonyi State, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Rachael Ogonna Umahi (Ogoo nwanyi) for the monumental services they have rendered to our dear state and for drawing us nearer to God through praise and worship. We are living testimonies to the divine assurance that 'he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty'. God who called Your Excellencies for this service shall continue to decorate you with the ability to conquer all daunting challenges that may come your way.

11. We thank and congratulate also the Deputy Governor and wife, the Speaker and members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, the members of the National Assembly, the Chief Judge and brother judges the entire Executive Council members, the former PDP National Vice Chairman and all the stakeholders for their roles in lifting Ebonyi State to this Olympian height now celebrated across the nation. 

13. We wish Your Excellencies and the good people of Ebonyi State a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
