About 11pm on Friday, three (3) Police officers were reportedly killed by suspected cultists at Onueke in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, NATIONAL PANEL reports.
Investigation revealed that a police constable was alledgedly abducted by the suspected hoodlums and taken away patrol vehicle with seven (7) arms after burning police station of Onueke Division, Ebonyi State Command.
Investigation also revealed that the three officers killed by the hoodlums included Inspector Julian Ugwuanyi, from Enugu who was married to Ezzaman in Onueke of Ebonyi State and another Police intake 2011 identified as Sgt. Chilaka who lost his life during the attack while on duty at the counter of the Division.

The other officer was identified as Inspector Danjuma (aka Jumba) who sustained bullet injuries and allegedly died in the bush while running to escape fom the attack by the hoodlums.
NATIONAL PANEL equally learnt that arrest was made on Saturday, but still waiting to confirm whether the actual culprits were nabbed by men of police.
Confirming the incident, the Police Mouth-piece in the state, DSP Loveth Odah said her office is yet to be intimated properly about the incident as at when filing this report. "My office has not been intimated about the incident properly," she said.
Though, the National Tabloid reports that Ebonyi State Police Command has confirmed the invasion of Onueke Police station, in Ezza South Local Government Area by hoodlums, killing two Inspectors and a woman who was inside her house when the incident happened.
The gunmen according to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Loveth Odah, invaded the police station and opened fire on the officers on duty which led to the killing of the two policemen and injuring of two others, while the corpse of a woman living close to the station was also seen.
She said the corpses have been deposited in the morgue while investigation into the ugly incident was on.
”The corpses of the policemen had been deposited in a mortuary while the two injured ones were receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital” she added.
The hoodlums were said made away with two AK 47 rifles kept at the station.
Ebonyi State Commissioner for Internal Security, Chief Stanley Emegha, said that government was shocked by the incident and had given security agencies forty-eight hours to brief the government on how such breach occurred without any intelligence to counter it.
