Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi and his Deputy, Kelechi Igwe have taken Astra-Zenica COVID-19 vaccine.
The duo took the vaccine on Thursday in the new Government House, Centenary City, Abakaliki.
Umahi said that the workers and security operatives would be the first batch to take the vaccine in the state.
He urged the people to consider taking the vaccine as necessary way to protect them from COVID-19 pandemic.
NATIONAL PANEL gathered that about 46,090 vaccines were sent to the state.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Daniel Umezurike has commended the efforts of Governor Umahi in fighting the deadly pandemic since last year.
He also urged the people to adhere to the instruction towards sustaining the COVID-19 protective mechanism by getting them vaccinated.
