Ebonyi State PDP Youth Leader, Barr. Obinna Iteshi speaks hard against the defection of the immediate past state Chairman of his party, Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi who during the weekend joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Prince Iteshi stated this on Monday while interacting with Journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
He said that the PDP has made a great mistake by giving Nwebonyi a chance to serve the party as its State Chairman following his defection to the ruling APC.

"Politically, Nwebonyi should be best described as a political harlot. He is a political harlot in the sense that barely a month he claimed before the press and the whole world, that he is the authentic party Chairman via Federal High Court judgement.
"Less than a month he has defected to APC and from day one, the basic reason why the National Working Committee of PDP dissolved Nwebonyi led executives from the state to ward level is because he is doing anti-party. He is playing the scripts of the state governor," Prince Iteshi said.
Further, he said, it was was obvious that Nwebonyi while claiming the authentic Chairman of PDP in Ebonyi had been attending meetings with the state Governor, Dave Umahi who is already in APC for several times.
He described the movement and body language of Nwebonyi before he officially joined APC as a practical show of an anti-party in political games.
"There are evidence everywhere showing that he was doing anti-party, which is against our party constitution," he hinted.
He expressed worry that Nwebonyi failed to display a true picture of a partyman as the overall leader of the PDP in the state.
"If you are the Chairman of the state, the moment the governor defected, he should have behaved as a radical opposition. He should have been in front to tell the whole PDP faithfuls that the PDP remains formidable despite the fact that the governor has left for another party.
"But Nwebonyi was playing scripts and collecting money from the governor, having meetings with him in the hotels.
"He paid salaries of some people whom he claimed that they were executives of PDP, which is fake," he added.
The PDP Youth Leader maintained that Nwebonyi's defection remains meaningless and can never remove anything from the PDP family, saying that the party faithfuls have been celebrating his exit to APC.
"His defection has no impact. It has no meaning, it doesn't remove anything from the PDP. In fact, PDP has been celebrating Nwebonyi's exit from PDP to APC because that's where he belongs. A character like him doesn't belong to PDP. Giving him PDP Chairman was the highest mistake, because he has not recorded any success. Nwebonyi is not a factor to reckon, if you are talking about a party that can take you to a greater heights," he maintained.
Iteshi stated the PDP's readiness to take over the state governorship seat with other elective positions come 2023 general elections, saying that the party is opened for everyone and noted it has become Ebonyians' traditional party since 1999.
He said his party has resolved to move to the hinterlands to tell the people that APC has come to deceive them.
"Governor David Umahi has joined APC to deceive Ebonyi people. PDP made him what he is today, he is a two term serving governor, former deputy governor and even served as the state PDP Chairman before he became the governor.
"Our party has done to him many favour, and there's no party can do these for him. Like Senator Sam Egwu said that PDP is like tradition in Ebonyi State, that our party has come to stay in Ebonyi State. And that our message to the teeming Ebonyi people, that they shouldn't be deceived by what we called political prostitutes - When you are here today, tomorrow you at another place for party affairs," he hinted.
He equally urged all the political appointees in the state to stop being afraid of their paymasters by resigning from their offices to quickly join PDP since they are not comfortable with the APC leadership in Ebonyi.
"For those who are still afraid of joining PDP because he was appointed by the state governor, It's your right to join any political party of your choice and a fear of any particular man shouldn't cage you. There are some of Umahi's appointees who had summoned courage and resigned. There's nothing that happened to them and you can do the same and come to your original party," he advised.
