Interim Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa, Alh. Ibrahim Bilal, has asked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and his party (PDP) to wait for their defeat during the 2023 election. He said APC will give them the biggest shocker of their life and send them out of power and into oblivion.
The chairman stated this in an interview with some journalists in his Yola residence where he rated Finitir administration’s performance low, saying “they have only succeeded in disappointing the people and mortgaged the future of Adamawa and the youths who are waiting to pay them back in their own coins come 2023.”
Bilal further noted that, APC loss in Adamawa in 2019 had nothing to do with under performance or Fintiri’s popularity but was caused by APC’s internal wrangling, which gave the governor an edge in the election, saying however that with the unity and reconciliations in the party coupled with defections of so many PDP stalwarts into their fold most of who were instrumental to Fintiri’s victory in 2019, the governor’s days in office are numbered.
According to him, so many PDP and other opposition politicians like Senator Abbo, Nyako, Hon. Emmanuel Bello, former Gov Bala Ngillari among others had defected from PDP and that their entire structure is now weak.
He accused Fintiri’s administration of mortgaging the state and the future of the youth, adding that “within just two years, he has made the state to be indebted to the tune of over N30 billion in the name of projects that are nothing to write home about and even concentrated at the urban centres to the detriment of rural areas where majority of Adamawa people live.”
