Barr. Orji stated this when he received members of the Medical women Association of Nigeria who paid him a courtesy visit in Abakaliki.
According to the Information boss, government had noted very keenly the achievements of the Association and noted the fact that it has Contributed immensely in the development of humanity in Ebonyi State.
He disclosed that the Association has partnered with Ebonyi State Government in propagating its programmes especially in the area of gender violence against women and noted that this goes to show the roles the nongovernmental organization plays in working with the Governor and his wife in ensuring the protection of women and the vulnerable in the state.
He disclosed that since the assumption of the Engr David Umahi led Administration in 2015, he has distinguished himself by aggressively developing the entire state by building a reliable human capital base especially in revamping the state primary and secondary Healthcare system.
Orji expressed satisfaction that the coming on board of Medical Women Association of Nigeria will in no small measure engender the progress of the programme of the Engr David Umahi led Administration and assured that the assistance of the Association in tackling the scourge of Covid-19 pandemic through proper awareness, effort geared towards the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic can never go unrecognized.
The Information Boss appreciated the medical women for identifying with the state government after the recent herders massacre of Ebonyi indigenes in parts of Benue and the state which according to him brought about the gifting of palliatives to the victims as assistance from the National body of the NGO.
He emphasized that the Ebonyi State government was pleased with their roles and promised to recommend their activities to the State Chief Executive as well as portraying their effort to see ways of assisting the association as a non- governmental organization, as well switching the Ministry to partner with the organization towards giving its activities commensurate media attention to ensure that their programme receive grassroots awareness.
He told the medical women that the State Governor had adequately paid his dues by transforming the entire state through human capital development and Infrastructural exploits which now stand the state ahead of its contemporaries.
Earlier, the President of Medical women Association, MWAN, Ebonyi state Chapter, Dr Onyinye Anyanwu applauded the State Governor, Engr David Umahi for his giant strides in especially in the areas of Infrastructure, Primary Healthcare and human empowerment.
Dr Anyanwu said the Medical Women Organization is a Non Governmental Organisation of female medical doctors and medical students in Nigeria and outside the country that sees to the welfare of it's members and provides succor to general public.
She stated that the Membership strength of the organization is 134 and had executed several health and humanitarian projects, which among others include; "the Rehabilitation and stocking of school clinic at Opefia Izzi, Organising of extensive health talk to the blind students and staff, examined them and administered medication like surgery, and sponsorship of Radio programmers for public Enlightenment on school evangelism on the need to secure the environment through tree planting, create awareness on deforestation and the need to plant more trees, as well as the rehabilitation of school toilet in one of the secondary at Ishieke and installation of overhead tank to improve hygiene and sanitary care.
Dr Anyanwu further stated that apart from the procurement of 2 Doppler ultrasound machines to Ikwo General Hospital for monitoring of pregnant women, treatment of pregnancy related conditions and early referral where necessary the Association has conducted Transcranial Doppler screening for children with sicikle cell disease in partnership with AEFUTHA.
She solicited the partnership of the Ebonyi State Government and that of the State Ministry of Information and State Orientation in driving the NGO's mission to fruition.
