The Christian Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State Chapter has begun carrying out its peace mission to all the local government areas in the state.
Members of CAN led by very Rev Fr Abraham Nwali were on Wednesday reportedly stormed Ugbodo, the headquarters of Ebonyi Local Government Area for the peace tour.
NATIONAL PANEL reports that the peace mission visit under the courtesy of Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State was to encourage the sustainance of peace and tranquility in all nooks and crannies of the State.
The Asssociation would use the opportunity to ascertain the perculiar need of the people of the council that need the urgent intervention of the State Government.
The peace meeting was an interactive meeting where both the members of CAN and the stakeholders of Ebonyi local Government robustly discussed the issues bothering the council people and possible solutions provided in the form of suggestions.
The meeting was well attended by all the stakeholders of Ebonyi local Government Area, traditional rulers, village heads, town Union presidents, development center coordinators,top and floor functionaries of Government, and who is who across Ebonyi local Government council and beyond.
In her remark, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Chief Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga, Commended the efforts of Governor Umahi and the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State Chapter for their peace evangelism to the council.
She thanked the people of the council and encouraged youths to always follow the path of peace and make sure they have a second source of income,not depending alone on Government for livelihood as that would gurantee their financial freedom.
She announced that the government will soon convene a youth summit where every youth will showcase his or her career for future development.
