The United States based Non-Governmental Organisation, NGO, has intervened in Ebonyi-Benue border community, where the marauding Fulani herdsmen killed not less than 116 people. Monday Oketa who accompanied the members of the NGO to the community writes.
Thursday, the 29th July, 2021, alongside with Andrew Nwibo, I had the pleasure to lead the United States of America based Non Governmental Organization's delegates to Nwori Nduobashi in Benue State, where the suspected Fulani herdsmen recently invaded leaving about 116 persons death, many amputated, while others are still receiving medical treatment at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital 2, Abakaliki, Monday Oketa writes.
The NGO known as "Shades of Grace International" is a foundation of Rev. Wille Shelley of the Methodist Church, Tennessy, United States of America. The attention of the NGO was attracted by Ebonyi born philanthropist resident in United States of America, Barr Mrs Uzoma Alu in her shock after watching on Media platforms the gruesome massarcre of people of Nwori Nduobashi in Benue State and destruction of their markets on 30th May, 2021 by Fulani herdsmen Jihadists.
The Nigerian delegates of the NGO led by the Lecturer of Ebonyi State University contacted me who after visiting the affected persons at the Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, then led them down to Nwori Nduobashi where the people of Odoke, Obakota, Ekpufu and Nduobashi were gathered and relief materials distributed to the affected villagers.
The items distributed by the NGO included rice, provisions and other eatable commodities wherein there was a cash donations to the affected persons at the hospital, Abakaliki.
