The new leadership of Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MTUN) Ebonyi State Chapter, has commended the State Governor, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, for his unreserved efforts in making Ebonyi State the fastest developing state in Nigeria.
In an interview, the Caretaker Chairman of the union, Comrade Nicholas Ekuma (a.k.a Reverend) who thanked Governor Umahi for his infrastructural development, said that Okada people who were hitherto neglected in the society can now be compared with government workers especially in the area of neatness because of good road networks provided by Governor Umahi's led administration.
Comrade Ekuma with other newly inaugurated State Executive Council members of the union who joined the league of other Ebonyians in celebrating the 58th birthday anniversary of Governor Umahi said that both the indigenous and non indigenous people of Ebonyi State are celebrating the governor because of his uncommon transformational projects, which will continue to distinguish him above his contemporaries.
The Caretaker Chairman, while commending the developmental strides of the governor, noted that Umahi's led government has created enabling environment for people to become self reliant through various empowerment programmes, vocational trainings and appointment of people into various positions of trust.
He observed that Okada riders in the state have been very supportive and that they would continue to support all the programmes and policies of his government, and prayed God to bless him and all his endeavours, while expressing optimism that Okada people would be included in his next batch of appointment.
The MTUN Chairman who has moved to stabilize the union, promised to do everything within his reach to foster unity among the motorcycle operators, and advised the riders to remain law abiding.
