The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State has urged Eze Chukwuemeka to direct his advice to his Party (APC) and the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, as "charity they say begins at home"who has single handedly ensured that his Party the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State does not have an Executive and equally denied his party the opportunity to field candidates in the 2019 general elections due to his self-styled emperor approach of leadership, which has brewed into an unending and irreconcilable crisis in the Party.
PDP while reacting to a publication by Eze Chukwuemeka titled, "PDP CRISIS, LEAVE SECONDUS ALONE, PDP GOVERNORS DEFECTED BECAUSE OF YOUR OVERBEARING ATTITUDE, EZE TELLS WIKE", observed that Eze who is acting in delusion is economical with the truth and wants to cash in on Governor Wike's rising political profile in the country, to score cheap popularity and by so doing patronise his pay master by putting up false and baseless article to blackmail his Excellency.
PDP in a statement by the State Publicity Secretary, hon.Tambari Sydney Gbara on behalf of the State Chairman, likened Eze to a man who instead of putting out the ravaging fire in his own house, prefers running after rats outside. The PDP while advising Eze whom it described as as an inconsistent character who's political antecedent is stomach infrastructure, to face reality by rather advising Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi to settle with his fellow party man Senator Magnus Abe so that the APC can be a formidable opposition to the PDP in Rivers State come 2023, he equally advised Eze to channel his advice on how to end the lingering crisis in his Party.
" Eze is obviously jealous of Governor Wike, this is why he is trying to create an imaginary crisis where none existed in PDP. Conflict is a characteristics of interaction, which is evident in our society even in our families, but the ability to amicably resolve it in less than no time potrays the level of cohesion and understanding among parties involved. This is what the PDP has done, contrary to that of the APC, yet Chukwuemeka Eze could shamelessly come out to berate a man who history has vindicated as being loyal and committed to his Party.
When the former Governor of the State, Rotimi Amaechi turned against President Goodluck Jonathan and wanted to collapse PDP in Rivers State in APC, it was Governor Wike who stood up to the rescue of the party. Again during the Amodu Sherrif's saga as the National Caretaker Chairman of the Party, it was also Governor Wike who championed the resolution of the crisis that would have sank PDP at the national level among other interventions he made for the survival of the party both in the State and other States. All these while, Governor Wike was not seen as being over bearing by Eze, who is only expressing his frustration that Governor Wike along with his colleagues, the BOT and other leaders of the Party were able to put the PDP in a better shape ahead the the forthcoming general elections in 2023.
How can a member of a party that are at each others throats, refer to the one that is formidable at every level in the 36 States of the Federation, to be refered to as "continuously enmeshed in layers of ragging crisis that threaten her existence", while the other that is crisis ridden is refered to as being crisis- free."
"It is unfortunate and obvious that Eze does not know the true meaning of "CRISIS,"else he would not have decided to "drink panadol for another person's head ache, otherwise how can he advise the PDP on how to become a formidable opposition in Nigeria, when his so called party is in disarray and not sure of participating in the next general election in Rivers State, just as it was in 2019.
Under the APC-led Government, insecurity has become a common feature in the country, with Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen bandits and unknown gunmen killing Nigerians. Eze Chukwuemeka has also failed to advise his political leaders on how to address the challenges of insecurity, debilitating hunger, the economic and social melee that have turned Nigeria into the poverty capital of the world. Chukwuemeka Eze has not thought it wise to advise his party on how to address the myriads of challenges caused by his party in the country with the view to bringing development to all parts of the country especially to the Eastern part of the country where he comes from.
Eze, who is now holier than the Pope by loving the PDP more that the APC, hence looking for a way to make the PDP more cohesive, irrepressible and formidable, while the APC to which you claimed membership is incapable of providing leadership direction for Nigerians, because they have not implemented any meaningful people oriented programme and also failed to produce what you called "the big yields" to the people, hence your call on the PDP, the one you referred to as "the credible alternative" to bail the country out of the dungeon your APC has plunged it.
You also failed to advise Amaechi when he spear headed the remove of Adams Oshiomhole as National Chairman of APC which ushered in a defective Caretaker committee headed by Governor Mai Buni, which some members of your party, have gone to court to challenge the eligibility of a serving State Governor to at the same time occupy the position of Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Party, which runs contrary to the APC constitution.
It is ironical for Eze to talk about wastage of money in Rivers State, when Rotimi Amaechi was indicted of selling Government owned properties and shared the loot with his cronies. For your information Eze, Rt.Hon Rotimi Amaechi is yet to account for the multi billion naira realised from the sale of the Gas turbine plant, Olympia Hotel, and other state assets. He also wasted trillions of Rivers money on President Buhari's 2015 election campaign, the failed Monorail project, Karibi Whyte hospital that did not see the light of day and the Syring factory.
Refering to Governor Nyesom Wike as"Father Christmas" is to say the least most insensitive.
Governor Nyesom Wike, has applied the resources of the State in the most prudent and discrete manner. In six years Governor Wike has embarked on projects that have direct bearing on the people in 23 LGAs,in the second year in his second tenure, His Excellency has commissioned three fly-over bridges, seven others are at various stages of completion with several other projects going Simultaneously across the State. The petinent question is where is Governor Wike getting all the money he is using to embark on these numerous projects, when Rotimi Amaechi boasted at an event at Dr. Obi Wali's Integrated Cutural centre, Port Harcourt that Wike will not get money to pay workers salaries, let alone execute projects. How come, those who said that he won't have money to pay salaries are now calling him "Father Christmas". Is it not ridiculous and a sign that Eze is not in tune with the current reality, let alone talk about issues concerning Rivers State.
Though Governor Nyesom Wike, has no grudges with the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, his desire is to see a NWC that is formidable, cohesive and ready to wrest power from the failed APC government. Eze and his co-travellers are not comfortable with the tsunami that PDP is bringing into 2023, hence they are looking for every opportunity to sow seeds of discord within the ranks of the party leadership.
It will also be important at this juncture to inform Eze that the PDP Governors that defected did so on their own volition in their hopes of escaping prosecution for corruption and nothing to do with Governor Wike who has said it several times that he cannot be cowed into leaving PDP and does not believe in the mantra "join the APC and all your sins are forgiven". Nyesom Wike is not corrupt like those who were intimidated to defect. It is therefore foolhardy for Eze to try to link Governor Wike who is working assiduously to strengthen the PDP ahead of 2023 of being responsible for the defection in the party.
Governor Nyesom Wike's action is geared towards the over all interest of the party rather than for his personal aggrandizement as witnessed by the APC leader in the State who has vowed to drop his presidential ambition and fight Senator Magnus Abe to a stand still.
We advise Chukwuemeka Eze learn how to first of all remove the peg in his eyes before seeing the one in another person's eyes, because he cannot cry more than the bereaved, he should be concerned about resolving the crisis in his party, because the PDP as one united family is already making efforts to nip it in the bud, to show that we have capable hands to handle our internal crisis amicably. And finally Eze,desist from been used to perpetrate careless, baseless and unsubstantiated cheap blackmail against Governor Wike.
Signed;
Tambari Sydney Gbara
State Publicity Secretary.
