Dr Kelechi Igwe, Ebonyi State Deputy Governor, this Saturday lauded the peaceful and successful recruitment test exercise across the 13 Local Government Areas of the state.
In a press release by Dr Monday Uzor, Chief press secretary to the Deputy Governor, indicated a hitch free exercise.
He said, "Reports from different parts of the State indicate peaceful and orderly conduct of recruitment tests organised by Ebonyi State Government
"Recently, Ebonyi State Government requested applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill vacant positions into Ministries , Departments and Agencies.
"To ensure transparency in the recruitment process, candidates were today subjected to written tests that was held simultaneously in the thirteen Local Government Areas of the state including non- indigens.
"The Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State , Dr Kelechi Igwe monitored the exercise in the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
"Some of the Local Government Areas monitored included, Ohaukwu, Ezza South, Onicha and Ohaozara .
"Speaking to news men shortly after monitoring the exercise , Dr Igwe expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the exercise.
"The Deputy Governor who is also the Chairman of the state Recruitment/Empowerment committee observed that some candidates who are above employable age were seen writhing the tests. His Words " _the society is becoming decadent where people no longer look for second address, it is laziness on the part of those who are above sixty to be seeking for government employments instead of engaging in other meaningful ventures like business and agriculture"
"He praised Governor David Nweze Umahi for commencing the process of employment even when the economy of the country is dwindling.
"Some of the candidates who bared their minds after examination including Ogobuchi Celestine, from Onicha, Israel Onwe , Ohaukwu described the exercise as smooth, peaceful and transparent.
"They however extolled Governor Umahi for his decision to employ youths into various positions and other numerous youth empowerment programmes.
"Meanwhile, people from all walks of life have continued to pour encomiums on Governor David Nweze Umahi for his his decision to reinvigorate the State Civil service.
"One of them and State Commissioner for Capital City Development, Barr, Onyekachi Nwebonyi said the exercise when completed will reduce poverty , describing Governor Umahi as a focused and compassionate leader.
"Former Commissioner for Education in the State, professor John Eke said steps so far taken by the Governor indicates his sincerity and committment at ensuring that only suitably qualified persons will be engaged".
