A non governmental organization known as National Council For Women Societies, Ebonyi state Chaptre has payed Christmas homage to the governor of Ebonyi state,Engr.Apostle David Umahi,calls for more inclusion of women in elective positions come 2023.
The group led by Hon.Mrs.Theresa Omoke made their position known when the payed Christmas homage to governor David Umahi at his country home, Uburu in Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi state stating that Ebonyi women is ever ready to support governor Umahi's Presidential ambition come 2023 but,however, clamour for more inclusion of women in various elective positions in both state and National Assembly for gender equality and also to give women chance to contribute to national building for the overall development of Nigeria.
"We are very grateful for your magnanimity towards women and the unimaginable developmental strides across the state.
"We want you to help our women to be in State and National Assembly,that is what we are yearning for.We are ever ready to give you massive support to actualize your Presidential ambition.
"When i went to Jos for National Conference,they are happy with the performance of Ebonyi women.Ebonyi women is coming to national because the have given us a slot.
"We are going there to showcase a governor that cares for his people,a governor that will bring peace and security to Nigeria, and a governor that will take Nigeria higher from where it is now",she said.
Mrs.Omoke further applauded the efforts of Governor Umahi and his wife in his response to the plight of women more especially the less privileged and the downtrodden in the state saying that Nigeria is looking for a man like Umahi to restore the glory of this country.
The high point of the event was the presentation of gifts to the governor, entertainment by cultural troups among others.
