AREWA Advocates for Good Governance (AAGG), a Northern political pressure group has thrown its weight behind the presidential aspiration of the Ebonyi State Governor, David Nweze Umahi declaring that he stand a better chance to get the APC presidential tick above other aspirants.
The group while addressing Journalists shortly after its delegates meeting at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Tomb in Bauchi described him as, a Visionary Leader, transformational Agent, Unifying Factor, Shrewd Administrator, Patriotic and a Problem Solver”.
Leader of the group, Comrade Jamilu Mato stated that the Governor is a man that deployed his education, exposure and experience passionately to do things differently inchanging the ugly narrative of Ebonyi State.
He added that David Umahi’s mission is to build and consolidate on the peace and Godly foundations laid by past and present leaders of Nigeria, committed to the ideals of the founding fathers of the Nation.
The Ebonyi state Governor according to the group is committed to pursue an integrated policy of economic development and transformation anchored on agro-industrialization, aggressive prospection/exploitation of the rich mineral deposits of Nigeria, to make the nation a tourist destination and a haven for investors through a balanced and vibrant economy; and provide effective leadership and benign political governance that will ultimately lead to significant improvements in the standard of living for all Nigerian..
He stated that, “His dream is of a Nation that will be a land of abundant opportunities, where every man and woman will live life to their fullest potential; a land where citizens’ lives and liberties are safeguarded and properties protected; a land of equity, peace and security where no one is oppressed. His dream is of a united Nigeria where no-one suffers discrimination on account of gender, tongue or creed”.
He also said that the Governor will desire a land where every child will have access to qualitative and comprehensive education and where qualitative healthcare is accessible and affordable to all; a land where the fruits of our soil can be harnessed to put food on the table and thereby banish hunger, a land that brims with employment opportunities for our teeming youthful population.
After rolling out all the achievements of the Governor in the past 7 years in the sector of education, Agriculture, health, infrastructure development, human resources development, the Arewa Advocates for Good Governance declared its unwavering and unflinching support and solidarity to the ambition and called on all Nigerians to support Governor David Umahi to take the country to the Next Level in 2023.
