Dr Onyechi Nwankwo has emerged winner of the presidential election of Ikwo Noyo Youth Consultative Forum.
Nwankwo Polled 116 votes to defeat his rival, Comrade Chinedu Ugome who polled 54 votes.
Declaring the result, the chairman of the electoral committee, Arch. Shedrach Okeh declared that Dr Onyechi Nwankwo having scored the highest number of votes cast is declared winner and returned elected. He Commended the peaceful conduct exhibited by the aspirant and their supporters, noting that the action is a pointer that the youths are determined to make change.
He revealed that the total number of registered voter stood at 581. Accreditated votes 174, valid votes 170 while invalid votes is 4.
In his acceptance speech, the president elect, Dr Onyechi Nwankwo thanked the youths of Ikwo for finding him and his colleague worthy of serving them and assured of his readiness to take up the task. He called for support of all Ikwo youths, stressing that the victory is for all Ikwo youths urging them to give him the needed support to serve them better.
In their separate speeches, the pioneer President, Comrade Friday Ilang, the interim president, Comrade Ede Bensteve expressed Satisfaction with the peaceful conduct and urged the winners to be magnanimous in Victory, work as a team and carrying everybody along irrespective of their stand before and during the election.
Speaking also, the presidential aspirant, Comrade Chinedu Ugome that all for their support noting that election has been won and lost, stressing that in a contest, a winner must emerge.
