Architect Edward Nkwegu has emerged the Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate for Ebonyi State in the 2023 general election.
Nkwegu emerged opposed in a primary election held at the party's Secretariat, along Abakaliki/Enugu express way, on Tuesday.
Architect Nkwegu, who was the Gubernatorial Candidate of Labour Party in 2015 general election promised to run an all-inclusive administration if elected.
He appreciated the Labour party for giving him the ticket of the party and assured that he will work hard to deliver the party come 2023 general election.
The returning officer, who also doubles as the National treasurer of labour party, Mrs Oluchi Okpara, urged the people to keep faith with labour party, stressing that the party is on a mission to rescue Nigeria from bag leadership.
Other party chieftains that witnessed the event include, former House of Representatives member and Ebonyi South Senatorial candidate of the party, Hon. Linus Okorie, Ebonyi Central Senatorial candidate, Chief Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, Ebonyi North Senatorial candidate,Chief Anslem Enigwe, candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Prince Ndubuisi Chibueze Agbo, PDP Gubernatorial aspirant, Dr Emmanuel Eze, among others.
Recall that architect Edward Nkwegu earlier contested gubernatorial primary election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC, but lost to his Kingsman, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
