Inauguration of Ebonyi Council Chairmen-Elect 'll Hold As Scheduled--- APC Chairman

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress APC says there is no going back on the scheduled swearing of the Local Government Areas elected officers in Ebonyi State. 

The Chairman of the ruling party in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha stated this shortly after the elected officers comprising the 13 Chairmen and 171 Councillors secured an Ex-parte Order from a court of competent jurisdiction in Abakakili. 

While lauding the Judgement, Chief Emegha accused the opposition parties of manipulating very insignificant ingrates within the party to sabotage the collective interest of Ebonyi people who have shown wide acceptance to the all inclusive developmental achievements of Governor David Umahi in the State. 

The APC leader, chief Emegha further insisted that the tenure of office of the current 13 LGA chairmen and the 171 Councillors remains two years as stipulated in the Ebonyi State Electoral laws 2020 adding that the current serving officers are legally due to vacate their offices. 

He however queried the motive of the enemies of the state in view of their persistent efforts at beating the drums of war against the peace and civilized people of Ebonyi. 

" I wish to re-emphasize that the Inauguration of the 13 Chairmen and 171 Councillors will hold as planned by the state government under the able leadership of His Excellency Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi.  I have never been perturbed that is why we have been working tirelessly to achieve this feat. The swearing is sacrosanct because it has been divinely endorsed". 

"I have continuously questioned the rationale behind the motive(s) of the dying opposition at causing crisis among the good people of Ebonyi State. We don't have another state, if they destroy this our beloved state where will they run to or who will they govern?

"May I use this singular opportunity to advise them to play civilized politics based on democratic tenets and eschew politics of rancour, bitterness and destruction in the overall interest of Ebonyi people". 

"Ebonyi people and their well wishers are hereby invited to come and make merry and also set agenda for  their brand new crop of leaders at the grassroot  government.
