The Chairman- elect, Afikpo South Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Chima Ekumankama said, he will prioritize the security, peace and unity of Edda people as soon as he gets to office.
Chima stated this shortly after been declared winner of the Saturday's Local Government Area election by the returning officer for Afikpo South Local Government election, Associate Prof. Albert Egwu Okorocha.
Prince Chima Ekumankama, Who polled 65,444 votes to emerge winner, thanked Edda people for finding him worthy to serve them at this point.
He expressed gratitude to God, the state Governor, Engr David Umahi and the state party Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha for accepting him to embark on the journey.
He Commended the peaceful nature of the election, stressing that it is the most peaceful election ever conducted in Edda land.
Prince Chima Ekumankama who came on the mantra of 'MEZIE EDDA' promised to do all within his power to unite Edda people and make the place the envy of all.
"The election was peaceful, one of the best election so far in Edda land.
"I'm so excited, full of joy. I'm grateful to God. I'm grateful to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi. I'm grateful to State Chairman of our great party the APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha and to my people, I'm so grateful.
"One thing I want to assure my people, the people of Edda land is that, I'm here as a unifier to unite all the people and by the special Grace of God, make sure we in good terms with the state so that all that is due to Edda people will be utilized for the benefit of the people".
Also speaking, the APC candidate for Afikpo South East constituency, Hon Stephen Igwe Orji, congratuted Edda people for making the right choice of Chairman in the person of Hon. Prince Chima Ekumankama, stressing that, with him, Edda people will experience peace, unity and all round Development. He affirmed that Edda people have embraced APC and will give the party overwhelming Victory come 2023 general election.
Hon. Stephen Igwe Orji lauded the leadership foresight of Engr David Umahi and the state party Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, assuring them that there's nothing to worry about as far as Edda is concerned in the forthcoming general election.
On his part, the councilor elect for Nguzu ward, Hon. Orji Uguru Etta expressed overwhelming joy for the victory and promised not to disappoint the party and his people.
