Afikpo North Council Boss Reiterates Resolve To Restore Peace Among Disputing Communities

The Executive Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Ibiam, has once again met with representatives of Enohia Nkalu, Amankwo and Amaobolobo communities, to deepen discussion for lasting peace among these neighbouring Communities that were  engulfed in crisis in the penultimate week

Addressing the representatives made up of Community leaders,youths and leaders of thought from both sides, Hon. Uchenna Ibiam, frowned at the level of destruction perpetrated and warned against a repeat of such, as his administration will not condone any form of threat to Security of lives and property in the Council Area.

He noted that it was irresponsible for these communities which hitherto lived peacefully to resort to wanton destruction of properties  and shooting because of a piece of land  and  tasked  them  to sheath their sword and embrace peace in the interest of growth and development of Afikpo

The Council Boss therein,  implored the youths of the area to always resist the temptation of being used to perpetuate wickedness and chaos as the  arms of law will definitely catch up with lawbreakers irrespective of how highly placed they may be in the society.

He  assured the Communities that peace would be restored among them but that  they should for the meantime, maintain status quo till Government concludes their investigation on the matter.

The Representatives of Enohia Nkalu, Amankwo and Amaobolobo in their submission thanked the Council Chairman,Hon. Uche Ibiam for his timely intervention and expressed confidence on his capacity to broker peace adding that they are fully ready for permanent peace among them.
