Women Empowerment; Panacea To Economic Growth, Development - Afikpo North Chairperson

The Chairperson of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Mrs. Sandra Onyinyechi Uche- Ibiam, has applauded Gov. David Nweze Umahi and wife, Deaconess Rachel Ogonna Umahi, for their efforts in ensuring greater participation of women in the governance of Ebonyi State which she noted has accelerated all round development in the young State.

Mrs. Uche- Ibiam stated this during a strategic meeting on Thursday, October 27, 2022, with wives of Development Centre  Coordinators within Afikpo North held at the Council Headquarters Afikpo,

where she assured the women of Afikpo North Local Government Area, that they will keep  enjoying  the laudable programmes of Her Excellency,the First Lady of the State, Deaconess Rachel Ogonna Umahi who has carved a niche for herself in promoting inclusion of women in leadership positions and urged  the wives of Coordinators in the Council Area to join hands with their husbands to step down the programmes of Her Excellency,the wife of the Governor for the benefits of those at the grassroots.

Mrs. Uche- Ibaim, extolled the resilient and hardworking spirit of the women of Afikpo and pledged to carry them along in every Government programmes and activities and made it clear that 

Women's empowerment is a key factor for achieving sustainable economic growth, social development and environmental sustainability in Afikpo North.

The wives of the Co-ordinators,  in their responses appreciated the Chairperson of the Council,Mrs. Sandra Uche-Ibiam for convening the meeting and the warm reception she accorded them, and assured her of their preparedness to join hands with her to galvanize women to work for the collective interest of the Government of Ebonyi State under the able leadership of His Excellency, Engr David Nweze Umahi and the Administration of Afikpo North under Hon. Uche Ibiam.
