Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, the Labour Party Candidate for the Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency for the 2023 general elections have described 2023 as the year of sustainable relief.
Dr Ezeh made this known in his New Year Felicitation message which he made available to Journalists on Sunday in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital.
The House of Representatives Candidate expressed joy over the safe arrival into the year 2023 by his constituents and teeming supporters and further urged them to remain grateful to God for His infinite mercies in keeping them alive despite their ordeals in 2022.
Eze in his new year message said: "I wish to heartily rejoice with all my constituents and teeming supporters on our safe arrival into the New Year - 2023.
"As tough as the year 2022 was, we still have every reason to be thankful to the Almighty God, our creator. If for nothing, we survived.
"I say this because the effects of the economic downturn under the Buhari-led government appear to have climaxed in 2022 and, as such, became a journey of survival for everyone.
"We must therefore try to sanitize our psyches from the trauma of harsh socioeconomic experiences so far and welcome the new year with every sense of optimism. This may be difficult but not impossible, by the Grace of God.
"Being an election/transition year, 2023 is very strategic and must be embraced with every intentionality and sense of responsibility.
"Every one of us, especially the youth, must rise to the task of mounting necessary pressure on the APC-led government, both at the Center and in Ebonyi State, to ensure a level playing ground for all political parties/candidates as the elections draw near.
"This is the only means by which the people could express themselves properly and select the best set of leaders across all political parties, as they may consider fit.
"The strategy of using stringent conditions to scheme out non-APC candidates from the use of public facilities must be discouraged. Egbe bere ka Ugo bere.
"On my own, I have continued to market well spelt Legislative Agenda for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency and, so far, the people's response has been overwhelming.
"We shall not relent until the mandate is delivered. I would not shrink back to my comfort zone after winning an election only to resurface during another election period.
"The same passion with which I am seeking election is the same passion with which I shall pursue the delivery of my legislative mandate upon victory at the poll.
"I call 2023 a year of relief because, with Peter Obi as Nigeria's President and people like myself at the National Assembly, the people will smile again.
"Join the movement to rescue Nigeria by Voting Obi and Immaculate under the platform of the Labour Party ("where they draw Papa, Mama and Pikin").
"Thank you and may the year 2023 bring us an unceasing flow of glad tidings."
