As days go by, the ripple effects of the boxing day and heinous experience negatively stare not only on the faces of people with a common origin and heritage, but it is rapidly spreading especially among the ruling APC faithful who are beginning to see clearer that the unwarranted attack was a calculated attempt to tarnish their aged long influence and anticipated victory during the general elections in a matter of weeks .
Till now most people are yet to fathom the height of provocation which triggered the attack premeditated to abruptly end the life of Emegha. Very unfortunate, the plan foiled by God alone still had a policeman and a civilian in Emegha's convoy pay the supreme price. As if that was not enough, the attackers swiftly moved to Emegha's house, killed his younger brother and burnt down his house.
Although three lives were lost and property worth millions of naira destroyed with a twinkle of an eye, as a man who places public interest above self with strong respect for brotherhood as well as the sanctity of life, Emegha chose the path of peace to avoid plunging Edda into further crisis by not retaliating or going confrontational.
Without an iota of doubt, it is now crystal clear that if Eni succeeds through violent means to go to the green chamber as a member, there would be more turbulence not only in his constituency but in the entire state. If a man who in the thinking of many that supposed to champion the cause of peaceful coexistence among the people throws caution to the wind and adamantly destroys in a broad day light, then the long arm of the law should not be withheld to act and also as a deterrent to others.
Moreover, unbiased assessment of the gory event between the duo of Emegha and Eni on that fateful day, shows that the latter has an ulterior motive to demarket APC by destroying its hard earned popularity among the electorate thereby reducing the chances of cruising to victory in general elections by the party. It also casts dark shadow on the assumption that Governor David Nweze Umahi is a political strategist and Infrastructural grand master who has mentored young people to successfully pilot the affairs of government far beyond Ebonyi State's territory.
It is either the stakeholders continue to enjoy the unholy romance with the architect of this mayhem and woefully lose what they most treasured in few weeks to come or toe a more truthful and pacifying path to address the unfortunate and calculated event and win the said election because at this time the electorate cannot afford to trade with their future under any pretence.
In a nutshell, this piece of art is basically fashioned to help broker peace between the two brothers who should join hands with other leaders to foster unity and progress of Edda people and Ebonyi State in general. Therefore, opinion leaders should not sit on the fence at this critical time and allow this impunity snowball into a full blown war.
Since all hope is not lost, Edda must be great again.
