The entire Ezillo Community, Ishielu Local Government Area and Ebonyi State by extension, wore a sober mood today, Friday, January 13, 2023, as the Coordinator of Ishielu Development Centre and Coordinator FON Youth Movement, Ishielu Local Government Area, Late Hon. Sunday Maxwell Agwu (Alife), was laid to rest.
Expectedly, no human ability made any sense of his demise, following the grisly circumstances that led to his departure to the world of mortals in the early hours of Monday, December 26, 2022.
However, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru drew courage from the words of the Holy Scriptures, exalted in the book of Job 1:21, saying, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” For the Honourable Speaker, who as well represented the Governor at the event, nothing else made sense about the shocking demise of ALIFE if not God’s promise of the resurrection morning.
Part of his condolence message read;
“I am particularly numb. I am shaken. My tears rain down profusely. My heart is broken, for I have lost a son, brother, friend, father, an ally and a true advocate of FON…. Death has done us a serious blow, but in all things, we give glory to God Almighty.
“We mourn him, but he surely remains evergreen in our hearts. Memories of him will never fade, for he laid foundations and indelible legacies for himself and his family. These struggles will be remembered. His large heart will be repaid. I will ensure that no drop of his sweat goes unrewarded, for he was and remains my soldier who discharged his duties with fervent courage and love.” – Speaker Nwifuru
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate went on to console the immediate family, imploring them to find solace in God’s compassionate Words and the legacies of their late father and brother.
Late Hon. Sunday Agwu was almost all things to Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. Not long ago, the deceased named his last son after the Honourable Speaker. As well, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru was his wedding sponsor, a ceremony that beautifully took place on November 26, 2022, exactly one month before he passed on December 26, 2022.
ALIFE, may your good soul continue to find sweet rest in God’s Kingdom, Amen.
