Council Chairman Recieves Royal Blessing As He Flags Off Rural Roads Construction In Afikpo

Many economic actors cannot maximize their time and duly harness possibilities for business development in the society, because of ineffective transportation systems. It may be said without equivocation that bad roads cripple  development in every economy while unhindered access to market, labour, raw materials, capital, and human resources are marks of a healthy economy. Ease of movement is an index of the business readiness of a city or a nation. Money moves at the speed of light where people and products move freely, quickly and safely.

For any economy to develop, distribution and consumption must increase. It is an obvious fact that without good road networks, distribution and consumption cannot increase, even if population keeps growing. 

It is therefore on this premise and also in following the footsteps of the Governor of Ebonyi State,His Excellency,Engr David Nweze Umahi on the provision of critical infrastructural development that the Executive Chairman of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam on Tuesday,14th February 2023 commenced massive Grading and Lateriting of Roads across the nooks and crannies of the Local Government Area to ease movement of persons and products in the Locality.

The road grading flag off  which took place at Unwana Beach Road was witnessed by the Vice Chairman of the Council,Hon(Mrs) Josephine Chinwe Nwogo;Leader of the Council,Hon Egwu Abagha; Principal Officers of the Council; Councilors; Supervisors; Community Leaders and Leaders of thought from Unwana Community.

Speaking during the exercise,Hon Uche Ibiam who reaffirmed his promise to make life more meaningful for the people of the Area assured that the Road grading which has started at Unwana Beach Road will go round across the 12 Wards of the Area to give those at the grassroots access to their destination as well as accelerate their socio-economic activities

He further assured the good people of Afikpo North  that the little empowerment programmes seen in the Local Government is just a tip of the iceberg as he shall  definitely surpass their expectations by the grace of God. He thanked His  Excellency, The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE CON for creating the enabling environment 

Some stakeholders who spoke including the president general of Nzuko Unwara, Hon. Idam Nkama, appreciated the Governor of Ebonyi State and the Local Government Chairman for the developmental strides ongoing within the Local Government Area since his assumption of office and promised that such good gestures shall be reciprocated accordingly.
