Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC in Ebonyi State, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha have urged the Muslims in the state to use the period end of holy month of Ramadan to show Love and forgiveness and extend gifts to the needy among them.
In a statement he personally signed, Chief Emegha enjoined the Muslim Ummah in the state to use the period to build bridge of unity and promote peaceful coexistence among various faiths in the state.
Emegha said, "On behalf of my family, Ebonyi APC faithful and staff of the Ministry of Internal Security Border Peace and Confliect Resolution, I write to heartily felicitate with the muslim faithful on this year's occasion of their very important religious festival, Id-El-Fitr.
"As you mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, I wish to urge you to internalise and consciously practice the virtues of humility, piety and patience as away of appreciating Allah who willingly offered you the precious gift of divine health and endurance to religiously observe the long period of fasting.
"The muslim ummah should also endeavour to use the period of the "Feast of Breaking the Fast" to assist the needy and build on the principles that promote national peace, unity and cohesion by avoiding issues of that aggravate religious bigotry and chaos.
"Furthermore, may I assure you that all the security formations in Ebonyi State are on ground to make sure that lives and property are adequately secure during the period of the feast and beyond.
"Wishing the Muslim Ummah a memorable 2023 Id-El-Fitr, celebration".
