Ebonyi Gov's Wife Solicits Support On Fight Against Child Trafficking, Gender Based Violence

The Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonna Nwifuru says her office will work closely with wives of Exco members in all her projects in the state. The Governor's wife who was excited for the visit of wives of the Exco members said the current Exco spouses must show uniqueness in both character and action capable of setting good example for other women in the State.

She enjoined the women not to solely depend on their husbands financially, but to engage themselves meaningfully in any trade so as to contribute their quota in family upkeep based on the economic realities.

The Governor's wife who used the occasion to advise the Exco spouses against making troubles with their husbands, noting that breeding crisis in their families would not only disorganize their homes and would cause non-performance of their husbands in their various appointive positions and enjoined them to always pray for their spouses to succeed in their appointments.

Mrs. Nwifuru called on the Exco spouses to support her office in fighting gender-based violence, child trafficking, child labour, and neglect, as well as other abuses, meted out to women and children.

Earlier, the leader of the team and wife of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr Mrs. Peace Odoh on behalf of the Exco spouses said they were in her office to familiarize themselves with her and appreciate her and her husband for finding their husbands worthy to serve in the present administration.

While assuring that the first family would not get disappointments from their husbands, Mrs Odo said that the Exco spouses were ready to partner the Governor's wife in achieving all her set goals.

Adding her voice, wife of the Chief of Staff, Mrs Nkechi Echiegu thanked the Governor's wife for the privilege to meet with her and assured that the current Exco spouses would make her proud.
