The Executive Chairman, Ikwo Local Government Council, Mr Sunday Nwankwo has sworn-in the immediate past Coordinator, Ikwo Development Centre, Mrs. Nkechi Onele as Secretary of the Council.
Mr. Nwankwo performed the ceremony at Onuebonyi Echara, the Headquarters of Ikwo Local Government Area.
The Council Chairman while congratulating the newly sworn-in Secretary, charged her to work for the realization of the Peoples Charter of Needs of His Excellency, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru led administration in the State and that of the Legacy Mantra of Ikwo Local Government Council.
The Chairman who described the position of Secretary as essential in the task of transforming the Council Area, expressed happiness over the appointment of Mrs. Onele as Council Secretary.
Mr Sunday Nwankwo who enjoined the Council Secretary to justify the trust reposed in her by the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Mother of the State, Chief Mrs Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru and Ikwo Stakeholders, reminded her that giving the people of Ikwo the best of leadership remains the priority of his administration.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Ifeanyi Ogbuewu and the Chairman, All Progressive Congress, APC, Ikwo Local Government Area Chapter, Mr Sunday Onuzu while congratulating the Council Secretary on her successful appointment and subsequent swearing-in, advised her to work for the development of Ikwo.
In her acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in Secretary, Ikwo Local Government Council, Mrs. Nkechi Onele thanked the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and Wife, Chief Mrs. Mary Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, the Council Chairman, Mr. Sunday Nwankwo and the Stakeholders of Ikwo for finding her worthy to occupy such an exalted position in the Council.
The Secretary to Council said she would not allow her personal ambition to override the interest of the Council, assuring that she would serve with diligence, sincerity, loyalty and steadfastness to achieve better results.
