Senate DCW: Ebonyi South Senatorial Aspirant Congratulates Nwebonyi

Ebonyi South Senatorial Aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Marcelo Nwaji Anyigor, has congratulated the Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi for his emergence as the Deputy Chief Whip (DCW) of the 10th Nigerian Senate. 

Senate Nwebonyi at the Senate plenary on Wednesday 18th October 2023 was unanimously adopted as the Senate Deputy Chief Whip by his co-lawmakers.

In his congratulatory note made available to newsmen on Thursday, Comrade Anyigor who is the South East Director of the Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation, AGF Project Beyond 2023, described the emergence of Senator Nwebonyi as the Senate Deputy Chief Whip as a well-deserved one. 

He noted that since the inaugural ceremony of the 10th Senate, Nwebonyi has proved high in carrying out his legislative tasks and continued to contribute towards the leadership advancement of the country. 

According to him, it was obvious that Senator Nwebonyi first moved a motion in the 10th Senate, and outside that, his vocality, leadership ingenuity and creativity in all his dealing to touch humanity have been so commendable. 

"This is the youngest Senator in the country who has utilized his few days in the Hallow Chamber, moved motions and sponsored bills that will go a long way to address our challenges in the areas of security, transportation, health, energy, and others cutting across the socio-economic and political backgrounds. 

"We are fully knowledgeable about his contributions in his oversight functions as Senator, leader and member of various Senate Committees.

"The Most Distinguished Senator, it is indeed that the well-meaning Ebonyi citizens celebrate your confirmation as the Senate Deputy Chief Whip in high spirit of the climate.

"Ebonyi people and indeed, our brothers and sisters from South East region are not only highly excited that as a first-timer to the Senate, you were able to record such a political feat, but also applaud the sensible possibilities of your political fortune.

"As you climb higher in leadership to touch humanity, It is our sincere invocations to Almighty God to continue to clothe you with abundant grace, wisdom and good health to make us more proud through your political breakthroughs," Anyigor declared.

Comrade Anyigor also commended the Senate members led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, for considering Senator Nwebonyi to occupy such an exalted position and giving leadership leverage for the youth at the Red Chambers. 

"By implication, Senator Nwebonyi becomes the third Senator from Ebonyi State to occupy a principal position in the Senate, after Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, former Senate President and Senator  David Nweze Umahi, the immediate past Deputy Leader of the Senate, now Works Minister in Nigeria," he observed.
