Chief Emegha gave the advice after the inauguration of the coordinators of the 64 development centers by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital City.
He noted that newly sworn in coordinators have enormous responsibilities to effectively spearhead the activities of governance at the grassroots because of the standard of leadership the Governor has put forward in prioritizing the people's needs.
The APC helmsman, Chief Emegha charged them to be vanguard of peace and equitable development by upholding the people's charter of needs agenda of the state government stressing that Governor Nwifuru has in different fora defined his stand against poverty and other forms of underdevelopment.
The message read in parts,
"With great joy, I wish to convey hearty congratulations to the newly sworn in coordinators of the 64 development centers in the state.
As I appreciate and commend our dear leader and Governor, His Excellency Right Honourable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for finding you people worthy to champion the activities of governance at the grassroots, do always bear in mind that this call to serve is not negotiable.
Celebrations may be most appropriate at this but do remember that you have enormous responsibilities of being credible ambassadors who would domesticate His Excellency's People's Charter of needs agenda to ensure positive and commendable changes in your localities that is the grassroots. I therefore, charge you to hit the ground running with His Excellency's transformative policies and programs to better lives of the rural dwellers.
Considering the feat already achieved by our dear Governor, you have been challenged to pilot the people's affairs in a very transparent and equitable manner by jettisoning selfish tendencies.
You should be more concerned in being vanguards of peace and comprehensive development as demonstrated already by our leader and father than anything else. Use your position to serve the interest of the people and not to wage war against them".
