The Coordinator of Igbegu Development Center Mr Obinna Nwedu has called on the staff of the Development Center to brace up for the task of replicating the Governor's people charter of needs administration blueprint in the area, stressing that the challenges ahead of them are enormous but with unity of purpose and team spirit, it is sormuntable.
The Coordinator stated this on his first day in office. He decried the dilapidated state of infrastructure in the DC, but assured that with the support of staff and stakeholders of the Area, he will leave the Development Center better than he met it.
He warn that his administration will not tolerate lousiness and most importantly, the issue of ghost workers in the Development Center will not be condoned. He enjoined the staff to put in their best as the slogan of 'onye ruo, orie', will be implemented in the Development Center.
He promised to utilize the resources of the Development Center to develop the area.
He expressed his readiness to run an all-inclusive administration where every segment of the society will be accommodated.
The Coordinator equally revealed his resolve to ensure that peace reign in all parts of Igbegu, stressing that no meaningful Development can occur on the atmosphere of rancho and acrimony.
Mr Nwedu called on the people to join hands with him to restore peace in the area. He revealed that plans are on the way to move round the villages and meet with all the village heads and other stakeholders in the area with the view to knowing the peculiar needs of the people and the possible way of tackling them.
He thanked the state Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and wife, Chief Mrs Mary Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru for finding him worthy to serve as Coordinator, promising not to let them down.
Earlier, a Catholic priest, Rev Fr Daniel Nnanna Agara, prayed for success of the Coordinator in the office.
He noted with dismay, the reckless neglect of the Development Center by the successive administration and prayed God to give, the new Coordinator, the courage and strength to make an indelible mark in the Development Center.
On their part, the head of personel management (HPM), Comrade Nwoguzor Jeremiah and NULGE chairman of the Development Center Mr Jonah Nwachukwu expressed joy over the appointment of the new Coordinator, describing it as a dream come through. They assured the Coordinator of the total support and co-operation of the staff for uptimum results in the Development Center
On his part, the traditional ruler of Igbegu Community, HRH Eze Ogbonnaya Ukwa poured his Royal Blessings upon the Coordinator and assured him of his support and that of his entire cabinet for the progress and Development of entire Igbegu.
