The Coordinator of Ikwo Development Center, Hon. Onyekachi Nwoba (BONE) said, he will replicate and implement to the later, the people's charter of needs of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to his Development Center.
Nwoba, who served as Special Assistant in many capacities to the former Governor David Umahi, stated this on Monday, shortly after he is been sworn in my the state Governor Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru at the New Executive council chambers, Ochudo centenary city, Abakaliki.
Speaking to bees of friends, political associates, family and indeed, the good people of Ikwo Development center, thanked the state Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for giving him the opportunity to serve his people. He said his appointment is call to duty and promised to run a government of inclusiveness where everyone will be part of the governance of the Development Center.
Hon. Onyekachi Nwoba used the occasion to thank His Excellency, the governor for his quality leadership that has made Ebonyians happy. According to him, the
governor's People's Charter of Need agenda has wiped away the tears of Ebonyians. He has achieved his campaign promises within seven months in office, a feat that has never been achieved since the creation of the state. He chronicled some of the achievements of the governor to include
1. Payment of arrears of gratuity to all retired civil servants from 1996.
2. Addition of ten thousand naira to all civil servants in the state to cushion the effects of subsidy removal.
3. Payment of one hundred thousand naira to all civil and public servants to enable them celebrate Christmas and new year in grand style.
4. Approval for the construction of 2km road in every community in the state.
5. Recruitment of 139 medical staff and approval for recruitment of over 1000 staff into the state civil service to tackle the problem of unemployment in the state.
6. Empowerment of street hawkers of Ebonyi state origin who were drawn from the major cities across the country with two million naira each to make them useful in their life.
The Coordinator reaffirmed his avowed determination to support the government that has done all these, pointing out that Rt. Hon. Ogbonna Nwifuru is God sent to deliver Ebonyians from shackles of hardship hitherto experienced. He expressed joy that his appointment as a coordinator is a face lift and renewed hope to the good people of Ikwo DC.
It was a roll call of who is who in Ikwo DC and beyond and Some of the stakeholders from Ikwo DC including the member representing Ikwo North Constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Nwakpu, former chairman Ikwo LGA, Elder Steve Orogwu, former coordinator Ikwo DC, Elder Nwode Eche, former coordinator Ikwo DC, Hon. Daniel Amegu, former coordinator Ikwo DC, Hon. Mrs. Chinenye Ogbu, former acting chairman Ikwo LGA, Hon. John Nte, APC chairman Ikwo LGA, Mr. Sunday Onuzu, former member Ikwo north constituency, Hon. James Alaka, Councilor Ndufu Echara ward, Hon. Basil Chidimma Igwe, president Ndufu Echara Development Union, Elder James Igwe, immediate past Deputy Chief of staff to governor,Bar. Okechukwu Nwakpu, Mr. Ewogu Chibueze among others, while giving their goodwill messages thanked the governor of Ebonyi state for appointing Hon. Bone a coordinator. They equally expressed happiness over the appointment made because Hon. Onyekachi Nwoba is a round peg in a round hole, describing him as a kind hearted leader and promised to rally round him to move the DC forward. They prayed God to continue to lift him higher.
