Commendation Trails Ivo Community Election

The Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Dr. Donatus Chukwuma Ilang has commended the Stakeholders and people of Ngwogwo Community in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State for their peaceful disposition during the recently conducted youth leadership election in the area.

The Commissioner made the commendation on Saturday, 17th February, 2024 at Ngwogwo Primary School after the election.
Dr. Ilang who was overwhelmed by the crowd at the venue of the election, expressed his happiness for the turnout, noting that it shows that they really need the leadership election.

He thanked His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his leadership prowess, describing him as the most peaceful Governor in the whole Federation, noting that his love for Ngwogwo people was what propelled him in directing the three Commissioners of Ministry of Internal Security, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters and Ministry of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution to come and supervise the election so as to maintain peace and order in the area.
He also appreciated the Executive Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Hon. Ajah Emmanuel for being responsive to his mandate in the Local Government Area, saying that he compliments the Governor's administrative policy of People's Charter of Needs in ensuring that there is peace in Ivo Local Government Area.


The Commissioner congratulated the newly elected leaders of Ngwogwo Community, urging them to run an inclusive government in piloting the affairs of the Community, maintain the existing peace and apply every possible effort to work for the development of the Community.

Speaking, the Executive Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Hon. Ajah Emmanuel while inaugurating the newly elected Executives, charged them to work hard and ensure that peace and unity that is existing in the Community is sustained.
Hon. Ajah Emmanuel who described the election process as credible, free and fair also enjoined them to use the resources of Ngwogwo to develop the Community, stressing that the Government is not interested in the finance of the Community rather for the judicious use of the fund for the development of the Community.

He also noted that the tenure of the out-going executives has elapsed hence the election, emphasizing that the tenure of the new Executives will end on 5th February, 2027 as stipulated in the constitution of Ngwogwo Community.

The Executive Chairman however, warned them against indulging in any act that may cause crisis in the Community, saying that the State Government under the leadership of the Peace Loving Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru will not tolerate it.
In their separate speeches, the immediate past executives, Mr. Uzochukwu Ikeh, Ajah Barnabas Uzoamaka, Friday Anya Nnanna, Ejim Nma, Ajah Collins Okechukwu, Uka Okwuchukwu Onyebuchi and Uka Chizoba thanked the Executive Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Hon. Ajah Emmanuel and the people of Ngwogwo Community for the cooperation and support given to them during the three (3) years in office and urged them to also extend even more to the new leaders.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman Mr. Sunday Okeke Ogbonna on behalf of Executives, thanked the people of Ngwogwo Community for the trust reposed on them, assuring that they are going to work hard for the development of the Community. He promised that they will ensure that peace and unity are maintained in the Community.

4. Mr. Egbe Chidinma - Assistant Secretary

6. Mr. Ajah Donatus Sunday - Treasurer
7. Mr. Ngor Ikechukwu - PRO
8. Mr. Ejim Obinna - Provost 1
9. Mr. Ochuba James - Provost 11.

The event witnessed also the presence of the Hon. Commissioner for Ministry of Internal Security represented by the HoD Administration, Mr. Ibe Chris, Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Chief Chukwu, Team of Staff of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Stakeholders of Ngwogwo Community and the Security Agencies.
