Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, said the state will be better united and develop if all stakeholders and leaders come together irrespective of political status.
Chief Emegha gave the hint on Monday at Onueke, Ezza South council headquarters during a defection rally to welcome the people's democratic party PDP defectors into the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
He added that the era of politics is over, hence the need for all to come together to support the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru whom he said, is determined to give the people of the state true dividends of democracy through his people's charter of needs blueprint.
While receiving over 5,000 PDP defectors led by the PDP Senatorial candidate for Ebonyi Central in the 2023 general election, Chief Lazarus Ogbee, the APC boss, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha maintained that he believes in the politics of inclusiveness against the politics of segregation, bickering and chaos which dominate the Nigeria political space, emphasizing that it pays to be together than the other way round.
Emegha also attributed the massive defection which has crippled the opposition in the state to the Governor's sterling performance, stressing that the people had come to the full knowledge that distraction would be tantamount to a waste of time and energy.
He commended Chief Ogbee for joining the APC stressing that his defection to the part marks an end to PDP in the area. He assured him and his supporters of full integration into the party as there would be no room for segregation in the party under his watch as the party need more people into its fold.
"The commodities of politicians in the business of politics are the people. So, in politics, the people are the target and important and when you have them enough, you have achieved victory.
"I welcome you and your supporters
with open arms. I never knew your people loved you this much. With you in APC, our problems is taking care in Ezza South. I want to assure you that from today, you're a bonafide APC member and I want you to join hands with other stakeholders to move the party forward. We need more people because our house is enough to accommodate all.
"Feel free to make your contribution for the development of our State. Our Leader, the state Governor, is a listening leader. He is open to good ideas that will move the state forward. He is sincere and passionate about the development of the state".
Earlier in his speech, Chief Lazarus Ogbee, a two term member of House of Representatives member and a two term Local Government Chairman said, he was moved to join APC because of the purposeful leadership of the state State Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, eulogizing Governor for his people-centered administration which has significantly improved lives of the people of the state in few months on the saddle.
He said that he is joining the party to complement the efforts of the leaders and not to displace anyone or cause acrimony in the party.
Ogbee pledged to work for the growth and development of the party and the state.
"I am delighted to be welcomed to the APC today. The leadership pattern and developmental stride of the state Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru informed my decision to join the party. I am joining the party to make my contribution for the development of our dear State. I am not coming into the party to displace of fight anyone or to disorganized the party, no, we are coming to compliment your efforts in the party
His Excellency the Governor, Right Honourable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is working with everybody not minding political affiliations or any other divide. He has done exceptionally well and deserves our collective support and admiration."
He commended the state party Chairman, Chief Stanley Emegha for instilling peace and unity in the party.
"I must comend the effort of the state Chairman of the party, for leading the party to victory and defeating my former Party, the PDP in the last election.
"Chief Emegha, not only led the party to landslide victory in the 2023 general elections, but brought absolute peace and unity in the party. He has also sustained the tempo of reasonable and good politicking by leaving the party's door wide open for all".
Speakers at event include, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, Ezza South council Boss, Mrs Euphemia Nwali, member representing Ezza South State Constituency, Mr Friday Ogbuewu, Commissioner for Commerce and job creation, Chief Oguzor Offia Nwali, the immediate past secretary to Ebonyi State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, Ebonyi Central Zonal Chairman of APC, Mr Peter Nworie Ndubuisi, Ezza South APC Chairman, Barr. Ikechukwu Uwa and University don, professor Mike Awoke. Other who delivered good will messages include the state ALGON Chairman, Chief Moses Ogodo Ali Nome, Commissioner for environment, Chief Victor Chukwu among others, attested to the political strength of Chief Lazarus Ogbee, maintaining that his entrance into the party will bring stability and strength into the party.
