The Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Chief Emmanuel Ajah said, his administration has concluded plans to build infrastructural legacy at the council Headquarters in Isiaka, noting that part of planned infrastructural facelift will be the demolition of an uncompleted storey building started twenty eight (28) years ago.
Ajah, while briefing journalist in office at the council headquarters, Isiaka on Tuesday, noted that he deliberately left the council and focused on developing the rural communities to give his people the real essence of democracy and sense of belonging in his administration.
The council Chairman added that he left developmental imprints in all the wards and communities across the council Area, raging from culverts, building of magistrate Court, bridge, award of scholarship, installation of solar lights among others.
He stated further that in the area security, his administration has been able synergize with security agencies to peace and security in all parts of the council.
"I am prepared to put up a legacy project in this place, just as I did at the magistrate Court and other places. I have not done anything here in the council headquarters, reason is that I wanted to give my people good governance at the grassroot level. We have supported our councilors to do Culverts in their various wards. We have have graded roads in our communities, installed solar lights, we have also awarded scholarship to our undergraduates and so many other things and our people are happy with us.
So. It is now that we have developed the rural areas that we can put this place in a beautiful shape. If we had done it before now, the people wouldn't have felt our impact the way they did. The house you see there was built in 1996. I have met with the Governor and have explained to him. I have also called the contractors that started it in 1996, they came and checked it and confirmed that it is not safe to continue building it, so, the only thing that is left is for us to demolish it and that is what we're doing to do. We must remove the building because it is very dangerous to allow it to remain.
"Interns of security, before I came onboard as the Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, there was Insecurity everywhere, but through the power of God and the support of the security agencies, we were able to restore peace in all parts of Ivo. Today, you no longer hear there's kidnapping or killing here and there in Ivo", Ajah stated.
