Following the approval for the upgrade of 39 secondary schools into model institutions of learning by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, stakeholders have continued to lend their support to the laudable initiative.
The most recent support is coming from the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha who paid an unscheduled visit to his Alma Mater, Secondary Technical School Ekoli/Nguzu Edda in Edda council area and described the Governor's approval as a welcome development and highly commendable.
Speaking at the school which would serve as one of the moral reset factories for students in the company of the State's Commissioner for Education, Prof Paul Awo Nwobasi, the APC chairman, Emegha, regretted the state of its infrastructure due to long years of neglect and as well wear and tear.
While commending the Governor for the well thought out initiative, Emegha called on the Alumni of the school and other critical stakeholders to queue into among other things, the project by helping to restore and upgrade the school. He charged them to invest an admirable level of resources that would help to actualise the legacy project of excellence for posterity sake.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education, Prof Nwobasi promised to deliver the upgrading project at a record time stressing that the Governor places premium on education and would not entertain any clog in the wheel of progress.
The party chairman, Emegha was also joined during the inspection by the Executive Chairman, Edda local Government, Prince Chima Ekumankama, member representing Edda West Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Stephen Igwe Orji, Coordinator, Edda Development Center, Prince Ajunwa Okoroafor, commissioner for job creation, Mr Oko Udu, school principal, PTA chairman, staff and other stakeholders from Edda.
