Nwifuru stated this on Saturday, at the Ezza North, during the funeral ceremony of late Eze Christopher Igboke Ewa, who was murdered in his house in February, 2023.
Nwifuru frawned at the activities of the some defectors whom according to the Governor, has started forming groups within the party. He caution that such action if not urgently checked may be detrimental to the existing peace and unity in the party.
In his words, "those of you who just joined our party and have started forming groups, be careful", Nwifuru warned.
The governor, at the event also expressed displeasure over the conduct of some of his appointees who were said to had fought during a defection rally in Ezza North Council headquarter during the week and directed the family of Late Eze Christopher Igboke Ewa to meet and nominate one person for appointment as commissioner. "The two commissioner from this place are fighting. I want you to nominate one person for me to appoint commissioner", Nwifuru stated.
Governor Nwifuru also sent warning to the two local Government Chairmen from the area whom he said has abandoned their duty and are going about Instigating crises to be wary of their actions, saying that he is sorry for them. "Those council Chairmen that abandoned their duty and are Instigating Crises, sorry is your name".
Nwifuru further vowed that he will not hander over Government to any group of people that are fighting, stressing that former Governor, David Umahi, Chief Martin Elechi and Senator Pius Anyim will all be instrumental to chosing his successor.
Recall that they have been political unrest in Ezza South and North Council Areas in the state in recent times following the defection of some perceived political bigwigs from the Area.
The state Governor consoled the family of late traditional and vowed that his killers will not go scot-free. He enjoined the people to live in peace and stop hatred among themselves.
The governor was accompanyed to the burial by the former Governor and minister of Works, Engr David Umahi, former Senate president, Anyim Pius Anyim, Senator Kenneth Eze of Ebonyi Central, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi of Ebonyi North, Senator Okorie Ani of Ebonyi South, House of Representatives members, State Executive council members and host others.
