LGA Election: Gov Nwifuru Tips Ikwo Council Boss For Second Term

Ahead of the scheduled Local Government Area election in Ebonyi State billed to hold on 20th  July 2024, the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, GGCEHF ,has reiterated his support for the second term bid of Hon. Barr Sunday Basil Nwankwo, the Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA and his Ohaozara counterpart. 

Governor Nwifuru made the declaration on Sunday 28th April, 2024 during a Holy Mass service at Government House Chapel, Ochudo-Centenary City, Abakaliki. He commended the two council Chairmen for their dogged and proactive approach to security challenges in their council Areas and their forthrightness in extending the party(APC) and its dividends to the grassroots.

Similarly, the Governor in his usual magnanimity has swung into action  to ensure the release of the social media activist, Comrade Nwoba Chika Nwoba who has been remanded in the Abakaliki correction centre for an alleged character deformation by the Hon  commissioner for commence and industry, Chief Oguzor Offia Nwali.  He called on the secretary to the state government, Prof Grace Umezurike to as a matter of importance, work with the state chief Judge to ensure that every necessary bail condition needed for the release of Chika Nwoba is met and on time.
