BIRTHDAY: Lawmaker Visits Motherless Babies Home, Commissions ( NOUN) Prison Study Center

As part of the activities lined up for his 48th birthday celebration coming up on the 2nd July, 2024, the Member, Federal House of Representatives and Chairman House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Rt Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah OON, Thursday made special visits to Motherless Babies Home and also commissioned a newly constructed building at the Abakaliki Custodial Center for the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Study center. 

The lawmaker also visited other places, including; Okpoku-oru Opposite, Pa-Ngele Oruta township stadium, Abakaliki,  Destitudes home at Aloh street, Motherless baby home at Nsugbe, Okada riders at Agubia-ikwo, Motorist riders known as Okada at Onueke township stadium.

Speaking at the Motherless Babies Home during the visit, Ogah said that for the past three years he has been celebrating his birthday with them in the Ebonyi State and outside the State.


"We are here today to mark my 48th birthday and I am celebrating it with good health and for the good governance of the executive governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and his beloved wife in their people's charter of Needs'mantra. 

While commissioning the National Open University Study center, Ogah said that the initiative aims to provide inmates with access to basic education and empower them to transform their lives in general.

" You people should know that you are not forgotten, and all of you have potentials, so nobody should loose hope at any point"

He expressed satisfaction for the developmental milestones of the governor, confessing his action towards peaceful coexistence, unity understanding and love among Ebonyi people.

The federal lawmaker was also received by the Superintendent of Afikpo Correctional Center, Emetu. Ogah was represented by the immediate past Executive Chairman of Afikpo local Government Area, Hon. Oby Oko Enyim (Obu Uzor 1), current Member, Ebonyi State Local Government Service Commission.

In response, the inmates appreciated the good gesture of the lawmaker, they prayed for God's continuous blessing and protection on him and his family.

Relevant stakeholders attended the event, including the Ebonyi State commissioner for Boarder Peace and Conflict Resolution, Hon. Dr. Ilang Donatus, Hon. Chinedu Nwali, the Ebonyi State All Progressives Congress Party (APC) Chairman,  Professor Suleiman Ogah , and many others.
