Ebonyi Lawnmakers Laments Increasing Hunger, Hardship

Some Members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly on Thursday, lamented  the excruciating hunger and hardship ravaging the people in the state and the country at large, calling on the leaders  to as matter of urgency, provide palliative to the people to ameloriate their suffering.

A fourth time member and the leader of the House, Hon Kingsley Ogbonna Ikoro, who is also a member representing Afikpo North West State Constituency made the lamentation at the floor of the house during a plenary session to mark the one year anniversary of the 7th Assembly.

On his part, a second timer and the Deputy Whip of the House and member representing Ishielu South Constituency, Hon Arinze Lucas also joined his voice to the lamentation and called on the state and federal government to look into the negative effect of the economy on the people.

Members however, Commended the leadership of the speaker, Rt Hon Moses Ije Odunwa and the state Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and  pledged their loyalty and support to the leadership of the house and the state Government.

They equally called for an improvement on the welfare of members as they move into the second Legislative year of the 7th Assembly to enable them meet with demands of their constituents.
