Executive Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Hon. Barr Sunday Basil Nwankwo has promised to partner with the new Chairman of Ebonyi State Rural Electrification Board, Engr. Godwin I. Nwankwo to ensure that all communities in Ikwo LGA do not only have electricity, but enjoy steady power supply at all time. He gave the assurances when he led some Stakeholders of Ikwo on a congratulatory visit to the newly sworn in Chairman of the board.
Barr. Nwankwo who revealed plans to constitute Ikwo Local Government Rural Electrification Committee to that effect, thanked Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for appointing a great son of Ikwo Noyo Clan and a core professional to Chair the Board. He assured Engr. Nwankwo of prayers, support and solidarity to excel in his new assignment.
Responding, the newly sworn in Chairman of Ebonyi State Rural Electrification Board, Engr. Godwin Nwankwo thanked the Council Chairman for the visit. He appreciated Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for finding him worthy to serve and pledged to take his new assignment very seriously. He noted that Governor Nwifuru is the only Governor in the State to have taken rural electrification as a priority, and promised to work with relevant Stakeholders, especially Council Chairmen to achieve the Governor's vision for people of Ebonyi State and in particular, the rural areas.
The Ikwo Council Boss was accompanied on the visit by the APC Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Hon Sunday Onuzu, former Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Okechukwu Nwakpu, former Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Hon. Daniel Ogiji among others.
