The United Nations Children Fund( UNICEF) in collaboration with the Ebonyi State Ministry of Information and State Orientation along with National Orientation Agency Ebonyi State has adopted the enlightenment of women during the on-going August meeting as another way of improving the attendance of mothers to immunization programmes.
Speaking at a planning meeting , the UNICEF desk officer in the state ministry of information and orientation, Mrs Chinenye Azu Ud highlighted the importance immunizing our children who are under the ages of 5 years , she noted that this year August meeting include the involvement of Area Information Officers, (AIO's) Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMO's) and Social Mobilisation Officer (SMO)in dissemination of information concerning Immunization to the people of the state.

In his own contribution, the UNICEF desk Officer in the Nation orientation agency Mr Una Uchenna implored mothers to do everything possible to bring out their children for Immunization against the killer diseases, most importantly those children that are between the ages of zero to five years.

Resource persons in the planning meeting include, the state Immunization officer Mr. Christopher Nwodom the head of Nutrition in the state ministry of health, mr Cypril Ogbonna and Dr. Samuel Nwamini of the Ebonyi State University lectured participants on Immunization and how best to communicate at the grass root during this year August meeting.The importance of information dissemination on Immunization.
