Commissioner For Border Peace Calls For Peaceful Coexistence Among Inhabitants Of Border Community

The people of Iphuigwe community of Izzi LGA has been enjoined to always maintain peace with their neighbouring  communities of cross River State. This advise was made  by the Hon Commissioner for Border peace and conflict Resolution  Dr Donatus Ilang during an enlarged stakeholders meeting with the Community. Dr Ilang who reiterated Government determination to develop Communities of Ebonyi noted that the development can only takes place  in an atmosphere of peac and harmony.
 The commissioner assured the communitiy that the National boundary Commission together with Ebonyi and Cross River state Governments and  Boundary technical committee  will soon take necessary steps to resolve issues surrounding the border   communities within the two states.The Commissioner charged  those in exile to work with with their host villages / Communities as efforts are on top gear to stop all forms of discrimination and marginalization of those who were displaced from their villages.

Earlier in their submissions, a stakeholder in the community chief Osopo peter mbam, chief Sunday mbam, Igweobu Michael and a Woman leader Mrs Ruth Enyi solicited for Government     provision of social amenities such as, Housing scheme, hospital, schools, Roads and  empowerment programs to help in allievating their sufferings. 
 They thanked the state Governor Rt. Hon Bulider Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for creation of Iphuigwe autonomous community and appealed that  leadership positions in the community be extended to those who understand the terrain of the area.
