The dispute among the members of Ebonyi state chicken dealers association has been resolved following an intervention by the Hon Commissioner for Border peace and conflict Resolution Dr Donatus Ilang. Addressing the leadership and members of the association recently in his office Dr Donatus Ilang charged the Executive and stakeholders of the market to always work in harmony and justify the confidence reposed on them by the members of the association and the state Government that provided conducive atmosphere for their business to thrive.
The Commissioner noted that his office waded into the dispute following a report of alleged embezzlement of fund and mal -administration advised the caretaker leadership of the association to embark on projects that was approved in the general meetings of the association. He futher directed the leadership to liase with the aggrieved stakeholders and strengthen the account of the association to reflect actually incomes and expenditure made within their tenure of office.
The Commissioner directed that the forth -coming election of the association will take place immediately after the association account has been ratified by the stakeholders and members to pave way for participatory peaceful and inclusive election / administration.
Earlier in their submissions Mr ofoke Kenneth oru, oshime Augustine, Ezeora sylvanus and Daniel Nwite accused the care taker committee of sideling some stakeholders of the the association and called on the ministry to assist in reconclilng the parties
On their part, the care- taker chairman of chicken dealers association Comrade Nwabueze Nwamini and the secretary mr Joshua Ali, and Mr Ebilima Mathew enumerated their achievement in office to include construction of over one hundred and twenty shops for members of the association and butchers, construction of drainages and latereting of the chicken market .
They futher thanked the Governor of Ebonyi state Rt. Hon Bulider Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for providing enabling environment for business in Ebonyi State and the Commissioner for bringing peace in the association while calling on the aggrieved stakeholders to join hands and move the market forward.
