SheGrowsHerFood Sensitizes Farmers In Afikpo

To ameliorate poverty and encourage farmers and agricultural productivity, the Southeast Coordinator of the Association of Micro-Credit Institutions of Nigeria (AMCIN), who is also the National President AMCIN Women in agriculture SheGrowsHerFood, Princess Comfort Ifesinachi Nweke, Wednesday stormed Afikpo North Local Government Area in Ebonyi State for sensitisation program.
Addressing the registered members of the foundation at All Saints Catholic Church, the venue of the event, the National President said that her mission is divine and it is view of the forthcoming inauguration of the organization.

Nweke further maintained that the aim of the visit is to teach the corporate farmers the new method of agriculture to enable them boost their farm productivity in the area and also help the government in power.
"We are here at the hinterland to teach you the new method to rich harvest as you engage in your farming business. Such that to minimize poverty and hunger rate will be minimized in the State, while towing the part of the Executive governor of Ebonyi State,His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and wife, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudeline Ogbonna Nwifuru. 

"The exercise is to create awareness and the need for women to put more interest in Agriculture and start producing food by themselves and not depending on government or going to the market to buy foodstuffs".
"Our coming to Afikpo North has brought light because hunger while be quenched automatically after teaching you the new method, dimension and paradigms to agriculture, our target is to lessen the burden of the people and families"

While sharing the items treated items including Okoro, Corn, Cucumber and others, she stressed the need to use the items to alleviate poverty and suffering in the society and warned against using such items for any political gains such as campaigns. 

She further said that AMCIN is out for the promotion of healthy food using organic fertilizer for agricultural produce, explaining the disadvantages of using inorganic fertilizers for agriculture. Our products are not for sale , she warned". 

She begged the cooperative farmers to work closely with the Local Government Cordinator, Mrs Henrietta Oko-Isu, and the priest who earlier got trained at Songhai through AMCIN foundation, for more benefits of agricultural products and gains from the organization.

As a promoter of AMCIN activities, the Parish Priest was decorated with a complete wrapper, and enough seedlings and urged to help through his evangelism to lift the rural dwellers from poverty and also boost agriculture. 

Appreciating the Cordinator, the priest applauded the foundation for coming to the rescue of the people by providing the necessary innovations, new method and better approach to encourage farmers and boost agriculture. He promised to use his call and his evangelism to reach out to everyone.
"We have laboured like elephants and eating like ants. We need new species, we need new approach to it, we need help because farming is good and a good business. Those who do is as business lack nothing Check the Northern part of Nigeria for example, he said. 

Notable highlights from the sensitisation included; Distribution of free medical healthcare, like checking of blood pressure, Massaging with machines, checking of Sugar, Distribution of seedlings, Decorating the Priest as a promoter of AMCIN activities and Visiting of the priests farm.
